What we use and why

We use essential cookies to authenticate you, keep your session secure and return you to the right page after sign-in. These are used to provide the service you request, rather than for advertising. Google Analytics (G-6Y2ZV3F6G3) loads on public home and policy pages only after you accept analytics. It measures visits and interactions using browser/device information and analytics cookies. Advertising features are disabled. Account, booking, payment, messages, admin and carer screens are excluded from this initial integration.

paws_web_review — sign-in cookie

Authenticates requests to your account. Expires with the authentication access token (normally one hour) and may be renewed while you use your account.

paws_web_refresh — session renewal cookie

Allows your sign-in session to be renewed. Expires after seven days from issue or renewal. Signing out clears both sign-in cookies.

paws_oauth_verifier — Google sign-in security

Protects the Google sign-in exchange. Expires after ten minutes and is cleared after a successful return.

paws_oauth_next — Google return page

Remembers the page to return to after Google sign-in. Expires after ten minutes and is cleared after a successful return.

paws_analytics_consent_v1 — your choice

Local storage remembers acceptance or rejection for six months on this browser. Previous notice dismissal is not treated as analytics consent.

_ga and _ga_* — optional Google Analytics cookies

Used only with analytics permission to distinguish visits and sessions. Configured for up to six months, with expiry potentially renewed by later visits. Google receives analytics data under its privacy terms. Rejecting analytics leaves bookings available.

Authentication cookies are HttpOnly (unavailable to page scripts), Secure on the hosted site and restricted with SameSite settings. We do not store your password in these cookies.

Your choices

You can accept or reject analytics and change your choice here at any time. Rejecting after acceptance disables further collection and removes our Google Analytics cookies. Clearing browser storage will ask you again.

You can use your browser settings to view, block or delete cookies and website storage. Blocking essential sign-in cookies prevents account and booking features from working. Dismissing the banner is not consent to optional tracking. This notice remains available from the footer.

Other services and personal data

Stripe Checkout and Google sign-in open only when you choose those services. They manage storage on their own websites under their own notices. Social links open external websites; this footer does not embed their tracking widgets.

Booking details, pet care forms, messages and photographs are stored in our database, separately from browser cookies. Cookie information does not replace information about how personal data is handled. See our privacy policy on the main website. Booking messages may be read and answered by authorised administrators to support your bookings.
